Sigh… does anyone else miss Chris Pine’s beard? I do. The beard was SO hot. Pine still looks hot without the beard, but I actually think he’s trying to grow it back? Please do so, Chris! Anyway, Chris and Gal Gadot are in New York this week promoting Wonder Woman, and Chris seems to be enjoying himself. It must be nice to not have to carry the weight of a superheroine film, but I’ll give him credit: Chris is very proud of WW and you can tell. He enjoys being part of such a woman-centric film and he’s proud to be part of this film in particular. Anyway, Chris Pine is sort of a hipster, did you know that? He still uses a flip-phone, not a smart phone. And he bought a record player.

In the age of technology and chaos, Chris Pine yearns for simplicity. In fact, the “Wonder Woman” star uses a flip phone instead of a smart phone.

“I have a flip-phone. The flip world is a whole world you gotta get into,” Pine, 36, told “Good Morning America” anchor Michael Strahan Tuesday.

“I’ll tell you what, here we go,” Pine attempted to explain his technology quirk. “I recently got a record player and a flip phone. I kind of like the simplifying down. I just like the simple, I just like the non-complicated.”

While the globe is desperate to constantly spread and share information, Pine wants to back away. “I don’t want to be connected so much,” he added. Despite making life simple, having a flip phone comes with its own setbacks – including difficulty texting.

“I don’t know if you remember, like, T9?” he quipped about having a limited number of buttons. “Like you remember when you had to do that T9 thing, wow!”

I’m including the GMA interview below. Chris says this when he’s in the “Lasso of Truth” segment, so I guess he’s telling the truth. I sort of believe him too. I’m not a hipster, but I have a similar technology nostalgia too. I had a flip-phone for years, then I had a terrible smartphone and now I have no cell phone. I was going to just buy a cheap-o burner phone for all my cell phone needs but when I finally killed my smartphone, I found I didn’t miss cell phones at all. So… does Chris need to get with the times? Or is it fine?
